‍‍Creating knowledge together, shaping innovation

Through our cooperation with renowned universities and research institutes, we promote the exchange of knowledge and practice in cost engineering. This results in well-founded, practical solutions that enable innovation and meet the challenges of the industry.

Calculation in purchasing

Professional contract awards depend on a clear view of costs. This essential shows how contracts can be successfully awarded and optimally managed. Only those who understand cost structures, recognize potential savings and can address these specifically in negotiations will be able to achieve strategically optimal purchasing results. This requires a realistic and at the same time challenging target price determination prior to the negotiation. What should goods and services really cost and what are their main cost drivers? The methods of open book calculation and target costing are presented. Databases help to use these methods to precisely determine target prices and evaluate cost reduction potential.

Cost engineering and value management (strategic procurement)

Cost and value engineering has undisputedly established itself as an important tool for successful corporate management. With the help of scientific and practical methods from various disciplines, it can systematically optimize the value and costs of products and services over the entire life cycle. Cost and value engineering combines expertise from cost accounting, production, product development, project and risk management with value-added-oriented approaches. This creates the prerequisites for using digital tools to make a substantial contribution to global sustainability. The focus of this anthology is not on the internal perspective of corporate controlling, but on the management of external supplier relationships. Methodical approaches to cost and value engineering are presented on the basis of current practical examples, which are always provided with a theoretical foundation.
Whitepaper in detail

Our whitepaper on the topic of cost calculation

Integrated circuit cost calculation - well-founded and comprehensible

‍The
manufacturing costs of ICs are complex and difficult to grasp. This white paper shows how a structured bottom-up cost estimation for semiconductors can be achieved - practical, data-based and ideal for cost engineers, purchasing and product management.

Find out which processes and investments are really cost-relevant, how IC fabrication cost breakdown and overhead are calculated - and how parametric models make microcontroller cost analysis even more precise.
