3D Import + Viewer
Save time and effort by importing CAD files directly into our costing software. In collaboration with our partner, shouldcosting GmbH, the 3D import module enables the quick and accurate capture of materials, dimensions, and manufacturing parameters from your CAD drawings by importing various CAD files from which technical parameters (e.g., geometries) are extracted. Using the information obtained, the module can automatically generate product-specific data records for material and process costs and calculate variants. These are thus created, supplemented, or updated.
The technologies involved—including cycle time calculation and automatic machine selection—are defined by the technical specifications of the costdata® cycle time module. The module includes a viewer as standard to import product images into the software.
Optimize your cost estimates by importing your file directly into our cost estimation software. The 3D import module, developed in collaboration with shouldcosting GmbH, allows you to extract valuable information from your 3D drawings in a matter of seconds.
Technical parameters and manufacturing specifics, such as welds and coatings, are automatically recognized and converted into product-specific data sets for material and process costs. An integrated viewer also allows for the visual representation of products within the software. The 3D module can be easily integrated with the 3D module to provide a comprehensive costing solution.
Supported file formats in the 3D module:
- .stp
- .step
- .sldprt
- .ipt
- .prt
- .CATpart
- .scdoc
- .xpr
- .x_t
- .x_b
Yes, the 3D Import Tool is compatible with costdata® estimation . It allows users to create cost estimates not only using the bottom-up approach (markup costing) but also parametrically and with the help of cost models. The cost models are developed by costdata consultants and continuously implemented into the module. Users can flexibly simulate various technical scenarios and analyze their effects on costs.
